The Scalet Family
The Agritur Dalaip dei Pape was born from the transformation of a simple 19th-century family farm into a small family-run agriturismo opened in 2006. Behind a curious name that derives from “laip” – which in the local dialect is the hollow in a trunk that collects water from the springs – and “Pape” – the family nickname and a traditional Primierotta dish – there is a complete Agritur which combines a didactic farm, a breeding program, sustainable cultivation, a restaurant, and overnight stays.
The story of three generations
The story of the Scalet family rests on Luciana and Gianpietro, true pillars of the family that even today enchant our guests with stories and anecdotes of their lives.
Luciana, who has devoted her life to her family, her four children Massimo, Klaus, Daniele and Marta, and to the house, still continues to this day with passion to dedicate herself to traditional Primierotta cuisine using the fruits from the farm.

THE HISTORIC EXPEDITION OF THE EAGLES
Gianpietro, Mountain Guide of the group “Aquile di San Martino” (Eagles of San Martino) and participant in the historical expedition on Dhaulagiri in ’76, knows every corner of the valley and is always available for walking, climbing and skiing trips. On 23 February 1976 Gianpietro took part in the expedition to the summit of Dhaulagiri composed of 12 men led by Renzo Debertolis, then leader of the Aquile di San Martino. On May 4th, Giampaolo Zortea and Silvio Simoni reached the summit, after months of attempts by the whole group. That of the Aquile di San Martino was the first eight-thousander conquered by an expedition of Trentino mountaineers and over time, the third Italian eight-thousander.
Living Green
Today the foundation of our family has remained as simple as it once was: maintaining traditions on the farm and in the kitchen, taking care of the land and Living Green.
You cannot live in contact with nature if you do not first respect its delicate balance, so we invest in clean energy, thanks to our seven solar panels we produce our hot water and 48 photovoltaic panels provide us with about 50% of the daily needs of the Agritur. Moreover, if you travel by electric car or reach us by E-Bike you will also find a dedicated charging station.
“We spent a wonderful week at this Agritur! Thanks to the Scalet family who have made themselves available and attentive to our every need. Don’t hesitate to ask Gianpietro Scalet about the history and mountaineering routes on the Pale because he will explain everything in detail”.
